Our Review Process
WCGRB Licence Verification
Before we write a single word, we verify the casino's licence status directly against the Western Cape Gambling and Racing Board (WCGRB) public register. We confirm the licence number, the trading name, and the current status. Any casino that cannot be independently verified as active and licensed is excluded from NocturneBets entirely — regardless of how attractive their bonus looks.
We check the WCGRB register at review time and again before each update. Expired or suspended licences result in immediate removal from our listings.
Real-Money Deposit Testing
We deposit our own funds at every casino we review. Our standard test deposit is R500 via Ozow, with a secondary test using Visa or 1Voucher where supported. We verify that the deposit processes correctly, that the balance reflects instantly, and that the payment method confirmation matches what the casino advertises.
We do not accept free credits or "review accounts" from casino operators. Our testing must replicate the real player experience, which requires real money at risk.
Bonus Code Verification
Every bonus code published on NocturneBets has been entered manually by our team at the point of deposit or registration. We confirm that the code activates the stated offer, that the correct bonus amount is credited, and that the terms displayed in the casino match what we've advertised. Game Library Assessment
We catalogue the software providers present in the casino's game lobby, verify that games load correctly on both desktop and mobile, and test at least five titles from each major provider. We note which providers are present and flag any significant gaps — for example, a casino advertising Evolution Gaming live tables that lacks certain key titles.
Withdrawal Speed Testing
We request a withdrawal after completing wagering requirements on any test bonus and record the time from request submission to funds in account. We test the casino's stated processing windows against actual experience and note any identity verification steps required. This withdrawal test is the single most important metric for real-player trust.
